In its sustained efforts to ensure zero tolerance for child abuse, exploitation and all forms of gender-based violence in the state, the Kebbi State Police Command has succeeded in arresting two suspects for molesting minors.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
On the 27th August, 2025, one Vina Shehu aged 10 years of Bedi, Zuru local government area of Kebbi State, was sent on errand by her mother. While on her way, one Amos Jondo Maliki of the same address lured her into his room and molested her.
Additionally, on the 6th September, 2025, one Nana A’isha Aminu Wala, aged 5 years of Goribbu area, Birnin Kebbi, went to the shop of Mansuru Sani, 48 years of the same address, to buy sweets. In the process, the said Mansur Sani waylaid her into his shop and inserted his finger into her body.
Upon completion of a discreet investigation by a team of detectives at the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, both suspects have been arraigned in court.

CP Bello M Sani had appreciated the giant stride of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Kebbi State, Barr. Junaidu Bello Marshall, for his swift response and for ensuring diligent prosecution of gender-based violence cases in the state.
He also condemned the incidents in strong terms and reassured the residents of the Command’s unwavering determination to protect the most vulnerable members of society while promising that justice will be pursued in due course.
The CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to a zero-tolerance against child exploitation, abuse and all forms of gender-based violence and urged parents to monitor the movement of their children and not hesitate to report the gender-based violence cases to the nearest police station for prompt response.
