Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle and senior staff posting in the state civil service.
A statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across key ministries.
According to the Governor’s directive, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Transport. In a related posting, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been moved to the Ministry of Environment to serve as Permanent Secretary.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, who had been overseeing the Ministry of Transport in an acting capacity, will now return to his substantive portfolio in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Governor Yusuf directed all officials affected by the reshuffle to formally hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officials in their respective ministries. The handing over and taking over exercise is to be completed immediately, with effect from Tuesday, September 23, 2025, before the close of business.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and purposeful leadership, Governor Yusuf explained that the redeployment is intended to maximize capacity, align responsibilities, and ensure that government delivers effective results in line with its mandate to the people of Kano State.
