Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has described the emergence of the new Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sanusi Mikailu Sami, Gomo III, as an act of God and the true desire of the people.
The Governor made the remarks when the Emir, accompanied by his council members and stakeholders of the Emirate, paid a courtesy visit to Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
Dr. Idris said the unity of Zuru and Yauri Emirates as Kebbi South remains a source of strength for the state, adding that due process was strictly followed in confirming the Emir’s appointment. He assured that his administration would continue to execute people-centered projects across the emirate and the state.
Highlighting some of the projects, the Governor cited the ongoing Koko–Dabai road, which he promised would be completed ahead of schedule, as well as the renovation of schools and hospitals, with new medical equipment set to be installed soon.
In his remarks, Emir Sanusi Mikailu Sami expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in him. He also thanked him for supporting the late Emir during his medical treatment in London and for sustaining developmental initiatives in Zuru Emirate, including the construction of a mega skill acquisition school and the appointment of indigenes into key government positions.
Speaking on behalf of stakeholders, General Muhammad Magoro (Galadiman Zuru) and Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, commended Governor Idris for ensuring that Zuru people got the Emir they wanted and for his continued investment in development across the state.
