At a time when many young people were immersed in leisure and rest during the long school vacation, a different story quietly unfolded in Naibawa-Yanlemu, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State. It was a story of sacrifice, discipline, and devotion a story of hearts that chose the Qur’an.
At Markaz Ihyahis-Sunnah wa Ikhmadil-Bidʿah, the echoes of Qur’anic recitation replaced the silence of early mornings as young students rose before dawn to memorise the Book of Allah.

While others slept, these children and their families embraced a higher calling.
The Markaz Tahfeez Programme, which ran for five weeks, formally concluded on 18th January 2026. Over the course of the programme, 171 dedicated students committed themselves to the noble path of Tahfeez, demonstrating remarkable sincerity and perseverance.
Parents played a vital role in this journey, making personal sacrifices to ensure their children arrived at the Markaz by Fajr, even in the cold early hours. Their collective effort reflected a shared belief in the transformative power of Qur’anic education.
The management of the Markaz reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young memorizers of the Qur’an, announcing that Tahfeez classes will continue every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
However, the journey has not been without challenges. The Markaz is currently faced with an uncompleted learning structure, disruptions caused by travel during long vacations, economic pressures affecting families, and peer influences that draw some male students away from Islamic education.

Despite these obstacles, the vision remains firm and unwavering: to complete the learning structure, revive the Sunnah, and re-orient the community on the true value and importance of Islamic education.
The Markaz prays for Allah’s guidance, strength, and provision to overcome these challenges and to continue raising a generation firmly rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah — a generation that will benefit the Ummah for years to come.
