Bayero University Kano has suspended all examinations earlier scheduled for Saturday, 21 February 2026, following the forthcoming bye-elections in some Local Government Areas of Kano State.
The decision was announced in a special bulletin issued on Friday and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on behalf of the Registrar.
According to the statement, the suspension became necessary due to the expected restriction of movement in affected areas during the bye-elections, which could disrupt the smooth conduct of examinations and inconvenience students and staff.
The university management advised students, staff and other members of the university community to take note of the development and comply accordingly.
It further stated that the affected examinations have been rescheduled to Monday, 9 March 2026.
While the date has been adjusted, the university clarified that the time and venues for the examinations remain unchanged.
The management assured that the measure was taken in the interest of safety and to ensure the orderly conduct of academic activities.
