The Committee constituted by the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to develop the AKY 2.0 Second-Term Blueprint has concluded a two-day strategic retreat in Kaduna State.
The retreat focused on reviewing proposals and recommendations submitted by members of the State Executive Council, Civil Society Organisations, Community-Based Organisations, professional bodies, academia and senior government officials.
Led by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, the committee assessed the relevance and feasibility of the submissions and considered how they could contribute to the development priorities of Kano State.
The committee also reviewed the implementation of the AKY 1.0 Blueprint, examining achievements recorded during the first term and identifying areas requiring further consolidation and attention.
In a statement, the committee reaffirmed its commitment to producing a practical, inclusive and people-centred AKY 2.0 Blueprint that builds on the gains of the first term while responding to emerging needs and the aspirations of the people.
It stressed that the blueprint must be realistic, measurable and focused on interventions capable of delivering meaningful and sustainable results.
The committee resolved to organise town hall meetings across the 44 local government areas of the state following a launch event to be led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The engagements are expected to provide an opportunity for citizens to share their priorities and concerns, while the government presents the achievements recorded under the AKY 1.0 Blueprint and outlines proposed commitments for the second term.
The committee also resolved to complete the AKY 2.0 Blueprint before the commencement of campaign activities by the Governor, subject to his consideration and approval.
According to the committee, the objective is to ensure that the second-term agenda is properly articulated and ready to guide the next phase of the administration.
It appreciated the contributions of members of the State Executive Council, CSOs, CBOs, professional bodies, academia and other stakeholders, noting that their inputs would help strengthen the blueprint and ensure that it reflects the needs and aspirations of the people of Kano State.
