    Tribute to Patrick Atangana Fouda: A Hero in the Fight Against HIV

    The global community, including UNAIDS, is mourning the loss of Patrick Atangana Fouda, a tireless advocate and iconic figure in the fight against HIV.

    This was contained in a statement signed by the Regional Director Regthe ional Bureau of UNAIDS For West and Central Africa Mr,s Berthild Gahongayire.

    The statement explained that, Living with HIV since birth, Ptrick transformed his personal experience into a powerful force for change, dedicating his life to defending human rights, promoting access to care, and breaking the silence surrounding the disease.

    The regional director explained that, Patrick’s bravery and passion inspired countless individuals, and his advocacy efforts reminded everyone of the urgent need for equitable access to prevention, treatment, and human rights for people living with HIV.

    She pointed out that, Patrick’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations in the fight against HIV and stigma.

    “His commitment and resilience serve as a testament to the impact one person can have by turning their experience into a force for the common good”

    The regional director urged the global community to continue Patrick’s fight, making voices heard, committing to change, and inspiring the world with resilience.

    “Patrick Atangana Fouda’s struggle and legacy will live on through the young people he loved and defended. His memory will continue to inspire hope and determination in the fight against HIV and stigma”
