Gaya Local Government Area’s newly elected Chairman, Mahmud Tajo Gaya, has made healthcare his top priority.
Gaya made the indication during an exclusive interview with the public relations officer Kano state ministry of health Ibrahim Abdullahi shortly after the just concluded 2024 OBR4 campaign at the national program in immunization NPI office.
The chairman explained that, as a health worker by profession and former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on medical outreach, he is passionate about improving healthcare services in the area.
Tajo Gaya hinted that, he tapped the passion from the executive governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf where several medical outreach free medical services and drugs were provided in hard to reach communities.
He stressed that, he has already taken steps to upgrade five health facilities to offer 24-hour services and plans to build the capacity of health workers to boost their morale and technical knowledge.
Tajo Gaya also commendably donated N10,000 to each of the fifty victims of a recent cholera outbreak in the area.
Under his leadership, the local government area is expected to witness significant improvements in healthcare, aligning with the vision of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The chairman’s efforts will focus on enhancing the quality of healthcare services, addressing the needs of the community, and ensuring that health workers have the necessary resources to deliver effective care.
