The Chairman of AMG Foundation, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, led a delegation, including YOSPIS Executive Director Zainab Nasir Ahmad, on a courtesy visit to Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, following the Kano Youth Peace Summit on 3rd February 2026.

The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between civil society and the police to promote peace, counter hate speech, and curb the spread of fake news in Kano State.
During the meeting, the delegation outlined key initiatives emerging from the summit, including:
Youth Capacity Building: Training selected youth champions—students, social media influencers, and movie stars to act as peer educators leading campaigns against hate speech and misinformation.
Media Engagement: Partnering with 35 radio stations across the state to create awareness on hate speech and fake news.
Pre-Election Peace Summit: Organizing a second summit with political stakeholders, including gubernatorial and senatorial candidates, party leaders, and spokespersons, to promote peaceful 2027 elections and encourage peace declarations.
Enhanced Police Communication: Providing handsets with a closed-user group system to all Divisional Police Officers, Area Commands, and Special Tactical Commands, building on similar interventions from 2022 ahead of the 2023 elections.
Annual Police Recognition: Instituting an Annual CP Distinguished Award to honor dedicated police officers across ranks.
Religious Leader Engagement: Sensitizing religious leaders to encourage positive youth behavior and discourage hate speech and misinformation.
Judiciary Collaboration: Meeting with members of the judiciary to raise awareness and enlist their support in combating hate speech and fake news.
Dr. Magashi stressed the importance of multi-stakeholder cooperation in building a safer, more informed, and cohesive community in Kano State.
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts by civil society organizations and security agencies to engage youth, media, and religious institutions in promoting peace and responsible communication ahead of the next electoral cycle.
