The Nigerian Army has announced the promotion of 105 senior officers in a sweeping reorganisation of its top command structure.
The elevation, approved by the Army Council, includes 28 officers promoted from Brigadier General to Major General and 77 elevated from Colonel to Brigadier General.
In a statement, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Appolonia Anele, said the newly promoted officers serve in key roles across intelligence, logistics, operations, training, and administration.
Among those promoted to Major General are O. Adegbe of the Defence Intelligence Agency; S. M. Uba, Director of Defence Information; R. E. Hedima, Acting Chief of Military Intelligence (Army); and R. T. Utsaha, Deputy Director of Defence Operations.
Others elevated oversee critical formations, including the Warrant Officer Academy, the Army Operations Centre, and the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, congratulated the officers and their families, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and leadership. He emphasized that their new responsibilities come at a time when the military continues to confront evolving security challenges across the country.
