The Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) has congratulated Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba on his appointment as Chairman of the Kano State 2027 Blueprint Committee, describing the development as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership and expertise in public health and development.
In a statement signed by its Executive Administrator, Nafisa Shehu Ibrahim, on Friday, CHR also commended Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for constituting the committee to review the implementation of the Kano State 2023 Blueprint and develop the state’s 2027 Blueprint.
According to the organisation, the committee’s establishment provides a strategic opportunity to assess progress made under the 2023 Blueprint, identify implementation gaps, and develop a comprehensive roadmap to guide Kano State’s next phase of development.
CHR described Dr. Magashi, who is the Coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) and Chairman of the AMG Foundation, as a seasoned development expert with extensive experience in public health, health systems strengthening, policy development, accountability, and community development.
The organisation expressed confidence that his leadership would ensure the development of a practical, inclusive, and people-centred blueprint capable of driving sustainable development and improving the well-being of residents across Kano State.
The statement further noted that, as an organisation committed to promoting the health and well-being of women and children, CHR hopes the new blueprint will prioritise maternal, newborn, and child health, strengthen child protection, expand immunisation coverage, improve primary healthcare services, and enhance access to quality healthcare across the state.
CHR reaffirmed its commitment to supporting evidence-based policymaking, inclusive governance, stronger health systems, and sustainable development.
It also pledged continued collaboration with the Kano State Government and other stakeholders in advancing policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people of the state.
