Zakaria explained that the ember months campaign is an annual initiative aimed at intensifying public enlightenment and enforcement to curb road crashes, injuries, and fatalities typically associated with increased vehicular movement toward the end of the year.
“The ember months are often characterized by high traffic flow, driver fatigue, and poor vehicle maintenance. This campaign is designed to remind motorists that safety begins with them,” .
The Sector Commander identified overloading, carrying passengers in haulage vehicles, driver fatigue, and transporting fuel in plastic containers as major causes of road crashes within the state.
