Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commissioned 29 refurbished vehicles for the Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and the Ministry of Education.
These vehicles were previously auctioned by the past administration but were retrieved and restored by the current government to save millions of naira that would have been spent on new ones .

The commissioning ceremony, which coincided with the World Sustainable Transport Day, was held at the Kano Government House.

Governor Yusuf urged KAROTA to utilize the vehicles effectively, especially in reducing road accidents and combating smuggling. He also advised KAROTA officers to treat motorists with respect and politeness.

In addition, the governor announced plans to replace the current KAROTA uniforms and procure new buses, saloon cars, and luxury vehicles for distribution to the youth as part of an empowerment program.
These vehicles will be made available on an installment payment basis to ensure affordability and accessibility.
