Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has expressed sadness over the death of the District Head of Gwandu, Sarkin Gabas na Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammad Zayyanu Haruna Rasheed.

The traditional ruler died at the age of 61 after a prolonged illness.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Nasir Idris described the death of the traditional ruler as a great loss to the people of Gwandu and Kebbi State.

He said the deceased devoted his life to serving his people, promoting peace and fostering unity and harmony within his community.
The Governor described the late Sarkin Gabas na Gwandu as a humble, peaceful and God-fearing traditional leader whose wisdom, exemplary conduct and commitment to the welfare of his people earned him widespread respect.
Governor Idris extended his condolences to the Gwandu Emirate, the deceased’s family, relatives and the people of Gwandu over the loss.
He prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward his good deeds with Aljannatul Firdaus.

The Governor also prayed Allah to grant the family, Gwandu Emirate and all those affected by the death the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
The deceased, who was survived by one wife and four children, was buried in Gwandu town after the funeral prayer held at the palace of the Emir of Gwandu in Birnin Kebbi.
