Three children who went missing in northern Ghana have been found dead in the boot of a parked vehicle, prompting a major police investigation.
The children, aged three, five, and seven, reportedly left home to attend Islamic classes but did not return.

Their bodies were discovered in a black Hyundai Tucson in Tamale. Police say the vehicle belongs to a Ghana Immigration Service officer, who has been arrested and is assisting with investigations.

A special team of homicide investigators, crime-scene experts, and intelligence officers has been deployed to investigate the deaths.
The vehicle has been secured for forensic examination, while the children’s bodies are being held for autopsies to establish the cause of death.

Police have not yet established how the children entered the vehicle or ended up in the boot.
