The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his childhood friend and political ally, Honourable Sarki Aliyu Daneji, describing him as an honest, hardworking, humble, and committed public servant.
Late Hon. Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, barely an hour after the death of another lawmaker, Honourable Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, who represented Ungogo Constituency.
This was contained in a press statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Governor’s Press Secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu.
According to the statement, the Deputy Governor described the loss as deeply personal and painful.
“I lost a friend I grew up with. He was not only my close friend but also my political ally. Late Sarki Aliyu was a simple, friendly, and dedicated person who committed his life to service,”
The Deputy Governor noted that the late lawmaker served Kano State and Nigeria with a strong sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment, adding that his contributions to governance and development would always be remembered.
Comrade Gwarzo extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late lawmaker, as well as to the Kano State Government and the people of the state.
He urged those mourning to take solace in the worthy legacy left behind by Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, whose service and contributions to the development of Kano State and the nation, he said, would not be forgotten.
“I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant his family and the entire Muslim Ummah the strength to bear this irreparable loss,”
The Deputy Governor also prayed for the peaceful repose of Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and asked Almighty Allah to comfort and strengthen his family during this difficult period.
