The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,
has reassured the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to protecting press freedom and civic space in a democratic society.
This reassurance came during a courtesy visit from the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, to the IGP on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

During the visit, the IGP emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Police Force and media organizations in promoting transparency and accountability.

He welcomed VON’s offer to leverage its platform to promote a positive image of the Force and counter fake news and disinformation.
