The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the recruitment of 50,000 police constables following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen community policing, boost internal security, and expand the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the PSC, applications for the recruitment exercise will be submitted online only through the official portal: [www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng](http://www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng), starting Monday, 15 December 2025 and closing Sunday, 25 January 2026.
General Duty Cadre: Must possess GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalents with at least five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
Specialists Cadre: Must have at least four (4) credits (including English and Mathematics), three years’ relevant experience, and pass trade tests in their field.
Applicants must be Nigerian by birth, medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and meet height requirements of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females (General Duty). Age limits are 18–25 years for General Duty and 18–28 years for Specialists.
The PSC stressed that the recruitment will be transparent, merit-based, and credible, and warned applicants to avoid fraud.
Application is free, and all detailed requirements and guidelines will be available on the official portal and the Commission’s and NPF’s social media platforms.
