The planned screenings of the documentary UROMI-16: THE STORY in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano have been temporarily postponed due to emerging security concerns.
The announcement was made in a press statement issued by legal counsel to the producer, Sa’id Sa’ad Abubakar.

According to the statement, the decision was taken after careful assessment of the current environment, with the safety of viewers and other stakeholders identified as the top priority.
The documentary, described by its producers as a fact-based human-interest film, seeks to address misinformation and present an account of a controversial jungle justice incident. It is aimed at promoting understanding, accountability, and justice.
The producers emphasized that the postponement should not be interpreted as a withdrawal or abandonment of the project, but rather a precautionary measure to safeguard lives.
“We remain committed to ensuring that the truth is told, the dignity of the victims is preserved, and justice is pursued through lawful and constructive means,” the statement noted.
The production team also disclosed that it is engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address concerns related to safety, rights, and accountability in line with constitutional provisions and the rule of law.
Members of the public have been urged to remain calm, law-abiding, and patient as efforts continue to ensure a safe environment for the documentary’s eventual release.
Meanwhile, the producers confirmed that a refund process will begin immediately for all tickets purchased through the official ticketing platform. Refunds are expected to be completed within three weeks.
