The Director General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KNSPHCMB), Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, has taken decisive action to address staff indiscipline at Kabuga Primary Health Centre following an unscheduled inspection visit.
During the supervisory visit on Monday, March 23, 2026, Professor Ibrahim expressed concern over widespread absenteeism and poor punctuality among staff, noting that the situation was negatively affecting healthcare service delivery at the facility.

In response, the DG immediately relieved the deputy officer in charge of her duties and appointed Khadija T. Musa as her replacement, citing her commitment and punctuality. The Routine Immunization (RI) Unit was also restructured after lapses were observed, with Maimuna Adnan Abdulhamid appointed to head the unit.

The move is part of broader efforts by the Board to strengthen accountability and improve the quality of primary healthcare services across Kano State.
Additionally, all staff members at the facility were issued warning letters for failing to report to duty on time. The DG reiterated the Board’s zero-tolerance stance on negligence and emphasized the need for discipline, professionalism, and dedication among healthcare workers.

Health officials say the leadership changes are expected to enhance service delivery and improve immunization coordination at the facility, ensuring better healthcare outcomes for residents.
