The Kano State House of Assembly KNHA has received the names of two commissioner nominees from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.
The correspondence from the Governor was read during plenary by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore.
Albdulkarim Rabiu Maude SAN and Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu.
Until his nomination Dr Aliyu served as the Director General of the Kano Bureau of Statistics.
Governor Yusuf explained that the nominations were made based on merit, integrity, and a proven track record in public service.
The Speaker announced that both nominees are expected to appear before the Assembly on Tuesday, 30th September, 2025, for screening and possible confirmation.
In another development the house has adopted a motion calling on the state government to upgrade Government girls secondary school GGSS Dawaki Rano from day to boarding.
This was sequel to a motion moved by member representing Rano constituency Ibrahim Muhammad Rano supported by the lawmakers.
According to him, the upgrade becomes necessary as Rano does not have a single girls boarding school,saying that it will go a long way in uplifting education to global standard and reduce hardship encountered by female students from communities that are far from the LGA Secretariat.
The motion was seconded by member representing Tudun Wada constituency.
Similarly the house adopted motions for the construction of Road in Kano Municipal, Bunkure and Tarauni local government areas.
