The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has formally decorated Ademola Oriyomi, Head of the NEMA Mission Control Centre (NMCC), with his new rank of Navy Captain, urging him to justify the confidence placed in him through higher dedication, discipline, and exceptional performance.
The ceremony took place at NEMA Headquarters, Abuja, with the assistance of the wife of the newly promoted officer.
In her remarks, Mrs. Umar congratulated Navy Captain Oriyomi on the well-deserved elevation, describing it as a testament to his professionalism, hard work, and unwavering commitment to national service.
She emphasized that, “to whom much is given, much is expected,” calling on him to redouble his efforts in executing the critical responsibilities of the NMCC—especially during a period of heightened national security and emergency management demands.
Responding to the commendation, Navy Captain Oriyomi expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Director General of NEMA, his family, colleagues, and friends for their support.
He pledged to honor the trust placed in him through renewed dedication, enhanced service delivery, and outstanding performance, stressing that the achievement belongs not only to him but also to his family and all who contributed to his journey.
The event was attended by NEMA directors, senior military officers, and staff of the agency, who gathered to celebrate this significant career milestone.
