    BPP Partners ICPC to Strengthen Integrity in Public Procurement

    The Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement BPP, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, has emphasized the importance of the Bureau in ensuring and strengthening integrity, transparency, efficiency and accountability in Nigeria’s Public Procurement Processes.

    Speaking during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu stated that, the MOU is to deepen the existing cooperation between BPP and ICPC and to formally establish intelligence sharing, joint investigation and proactive prevention of fraud and irregularities in the public procurement process.

    The Chairman, stated that, the agreement for the MOU between BPP and ICPC is a decisive step towards strengthening integrity and transparency in the procurement sector and to eliminate persistent corruption that erodes Public trust, drains national resources and impedes growth. Adding that, the MOU will serve as a catalyst for transparent, accountable and corrupt-free procurement system.

    Dr. Adebowale, further expressed his confidence in the leadership of ICPC and BPP as a privilege to serve Nigeria in a better capacity and to leave a good legacy for posterity sake.

    He pointed out that, the relationship between both agencies is not to witch-hunt or fight the opposition, but to the best interest of the country and to transform and implement the policies and reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tituba’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.

    The DG said that the implementation of the MOU is paramount for assessment by all Nigerians, as well as much benefit to both Nigerians and the International communities to invest in the country and be assured of the safety of their resources.

    The MOU brings both agencies together to uphold the principles of good governance and reaffirms the shared commitment to building a stronger and prosperous Nigeria.
