The Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Persons with Disabilities has applauded the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, for its continuous contribution to promoting women’s health and empowerment in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Hod, the Ministry’s representative, Hajiya Nafi Muhammad Yakasai, commended NAWOJ for organizing impactful programmes, particularly the recent Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign for women journalists in Kano.
She also lauded the Aminu Magashi Foundation (AMG) for sponsoring the seminar and supporting various women-focused health initiatives across the state, noting that the foundation’s interventions have improved women’s access to vital health information and services.
Yakasai expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering support for women, children and persons with disabilities, describing the appointment of Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Hod as deserving and strategic. She reaffirmed the Commissioner’s commitment to advancing women’s development and strengthening partnerships that promote their wellbeing.
In her remarks, Chairperson of NAWOJ Kano, Comrade Bahijja Malam Kabara, thanked the Ministry for the recognition and openness to collaboration. She reiterated the association’s commitment to championing public enlightenment on women-related issues and partnering with government agencies, NGOs and donor organisations to improve the lives of women and children across Kano State.
