Yari made the appeal on Thursday in Zaria during a visit to the Zazzau Emirate Council as part of the council’s nationwide consultations with traditional and religious institutions.
He said the council had made it a tradition to begin its engagements with royal fathers and religious leaders to seek their prayers and blessings for a successful campaign.
According to him, the consultations also provide an opportunity to brief traditional rulers on the achievements of the Tinubu administration and its development agenda.
Yari said the council remained committed to promoting national unity, peaceful coexistence, justice and fairness through sustained engagement with traditional institutions across the country.
He recalled Nigeria’s history of power transitions between the North and South, citing the administrations of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the incumbent, President Bola Tinubu.
The senator urged Nigerians to uphold national unity and respect the country’s political arrangements in the interest of peace, stability and development.
He acknowledged that no government could meet all the expectations of its citizens, adding that despite criticisms of some policies, efforts should focus on improving livelihoods and advancing national development.

Yari also highlighted infrastructure projects and economic interventions by the Tinubu administration, including the proposed Abuja–Maradi railway and gas pipeline projects, which he said were expected to improve transportation, electricity supply and industrial development.
He further cited road projects such as the Abuja–Kano–Maiduguri highway and the Zaria–Sokoto road as initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating economic activities.
The campaign council director-general also mentioned student support programmes and conditional cash transfers designed to assist vulnerable households and small-scale business operators.
He explained that the consultations were intended to familiarise traditional rulers with the administration’s achievements and development plans before the council commenced direct engagements with voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yari expressed optimism that the engagements would enable voters to better understand the administration’s record and make informed decisions during the elections.
Responding, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, said the emirate continued to enjoy relative peace and security.
Bamalli prayed for the emergence of good and just leaders committed to promoting development, peace and security across the country.
He also prayed for peaceful and credible elections, urging political candidates to demonstrate honesty, sincerity and a strong sense of responsibility in their conduct.
