    President Bola Tinubu Swears In Eight New Permanent Secretaries

    President  Bola Tinubu has sworn in 8 Permanent Secretaries to fill existing and impending vacancies of some states and geo-political zones in the Civil Service of the Federation.

    The Permanent Secretaries emerged from a diligent selection process, conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, which comprised of a written examination, an ICT proficiency test, and an interactive session with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

    The new Permanent Secretaries, who until now were Directors in Civil Service of the federation, are Emanso Okop Umobong, from Akwa Ibom State, Emeka Vitalis Obi, Anambra State, Fatima Sugra Tabi’a Mahmood, Bauchi State, and Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma from Kazaure in Jigawa State.

    The rest are Olubunmi Olusanya, Ondo State, Maryam Ismaila Keshinro Zamfara State, Chinyere Ijeoma Akujobi, Southeast Zone, and Christopher Osaruwanmwen Isokpunwu, South South Zone.

    The ceremony was done before the commencement of this week’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

    In an interview, the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, charged the new Permanent Secretaries to understand that their selection was a call to service.

    She said they were expected to do their work with fresh vigour, but not become bottlenecks to the progress needed to be achieved.

    The new Permanent Secretary representing Anambra State, Dr Emeka Obi, told newsmen that they were related to having been allowed to serve the country in that capacity, pledging to turn the civil service into a world-class one.
