Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced his resignation from the party, citing a divergence from the party’s original values.
El-Rufai expressed his disappointment with the APC’s current leadership, stating that they have neglected the party’s progressive principles and ignored his concerns.

El-Rufai, who served as the Governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023, played a crucial role in the APC’s formation and its subsequent election victories.

In his resignation letter, El-Rufai announced his decision to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP), which he believes aligns better with his vision for Nigeria.
