The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a Kannywood actress, Samha Inuwa, over alleged mutilation of the Nigerian currency.
Inuwa was arrested on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which she was seen using naira notes to wipe mucus from her nose.
According to the EFCC, the video prompted swift action by the commission, which traced the actress and effected her arrest for questioning in connection with the alleged offence.
The commission stated that the suspect would be investigated in line with relevant laws guiding the abuse and mutilation of the national currency.
