Vice President Kashim Shettima has praised the Gates Foundation for its continued investments and humanitarian aid in Nigeria, describing the foundation as a strategic partner in driving national development.
The commendation came during an audience at the Presidential Villa, where the Vice President received a delegation from the Gates Foundation led by Hari Menon, President of the Foundation’s Global Growth and Opportunity division.
Vice President Shettima expressed his support for the Foundation’s request to expand its partnership with the Nigerian government and private sector, particularly in digital transformation, nutrition, agriculture, and health sectors. He noted that the Foundation’s work is vital in shaping a positive national narrative and supporting ongoing reforms.
Responding, Hari Menon emphasized that the delegation’s mission is to deepen and broaden the Gates Foundation’s engagement with Nigeria, aligning its programs with the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support ongoing national reforms. He described Nigeria’s current trajectory under the administration as a remarkable moment for progress.
The meeting highlights continued collaboration between Nigeria and international partners to drive sustainable development, enhance public welfare, and strengthen humanitarian initiatives across the country.
