Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council in a move aimed at creating a level playing ground for political participation ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The decision, announced in a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, is intended to allow any member of the council interested in contesting elective positions to do so without conflict of interest.
According to the directive, all Commissioners are to hand over the affairs of their respective ministries to Permanent Secretaries on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.
Governor Zulum commended the outgoing Commissioners for their service, dedication, and contributions to the growth and development of Borno State, expressing gratitude for their role in advancing governance and public service in the state.
