Speaking during a sensitisation exercise in Kano, the Director in charge of Quality, Pharmacist Sani Danjuma, who led the Council’s delegation, explained that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight could potentially affect the quality of sachet water.
He noted that excessive heat could affect plastic packaging and potentially cause certain chemical substances to migrate into the water, depending on the packaging material and exposure conditions.
Pharmacist Danjuma urged vendors to provide suitable storage facilities to shield sachet water from direct sunlight and maintain the quality of products offered to consumers.
