The Executive Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Hon. Lawan Najume, has approved the immediate dismissal of two of his advisers over alleged misconduct during an official state function in Kano.
The affected officials, Hon. Sani Salisu Gude, Adviser on Commerce and Investment, and Isa Samaila Kanye, Adviser on Support Services, were relieved of their duties following actions described as inappropriate and inconsistent with the standards expected of public office holders.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Government House in Kano during a formal reception hosted by the state governor. Their conduct at the high-profile event was said to have breached established decorum, particularly in the presence of senior government officials and other distinguished guests.
Sources within the local government council indicated that the chairman viewed the behaviour of the two advisers as unacceptable and damaging to the image of the council and the wider public service. The actions were also said to have caused embarrassment and undermined the dignity of the administration.
Reacting to the development, Hon. Najume reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and misconduct, stressing that any act capable of bringing the government into disrepute would not be condoned, regardless of the individual’s position.
He further emphasized that all political appointees must uphold the highest standards of professionalism, responsibility, and respect in the discharge of their duties and public conduct.
The chairman assured residents that the decision was taken in the interest of good governance and accountability, noting that his administration remains committed to transparency, integrity, and excellence in public service.
He also warned that any official found wanting in conduct or performance would face appropriate sanctions.
