The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has written a letter to the Kano State House of Assembly KNHA seeking for approval to appoint Inuwa Idris(rtd) as a commissioner and member of the state executive council.
The request letter which was addressed to the Speaker, Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore, was read on the floor of the house during an emergency plenary session.

Emphasizing the importance of the appointment, the majority leader, Lawan Husseini, noted that screening and filling the vacant position would enhance security.

After careful deliberations, the house unanimously adopted a resolution and invited the nominee to appear before the house for screening on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Recall that in March 2024 approved the creation of new ministries, one of which was the ministry of Internal Security and Special service.
In another development the house called on the state government to construct five bridges destroyed as a result of heavy downpour in the Garun Malam local government area of the state, rendering some communities inaccessible and affecting about 200 farmlands.
