Academic activities were put on hold in public primary and secondary schools visited in Lagos today.
The students who started arriving the schools premises as early as 7am were asked to go back home at about 8am when their teachers informed them that there would not be teaching and learning today due to the ongoing labour strike.

One of such schools is Olorunfunmi secondary school Idimu, under Alimosho local government area of Lagos state.

In an interview with the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Lagos State, Mr. Akintayo Hassan , parents should not allow their wards to come to school while the strike lasts as no teacher would be on ground to teach them.
Some of the students who spoke with Radio Nigeria said they were not happy with the strike as this might disrupt their academic calendar if the demands of the unions were not met on time by the federal government.
They however, appealed to the government and the striking workers to work towards addressing the issues on ground in the interest of the Nigerian Child.

However, while academic activities were being disrupted in public primary and secondary schools due to the ongoing strike, the private schools were going about their normal activities unhindered.
