Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a woman, Zaliha Shuaibu, for allegedly killing her co-wife’s three-month-old baby in Malari Village, Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred while the child’s mother, Maryam Ibrahim, briefly stepped out to use the restroom, leaving her infant son in her room.

Upon her return, she found her co-wife, Zaliha, holding the baby, who had foam coming out of his mouth and a visible neck injury. The child was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Zaliha confessed to the crime during police interrogation and admitted to conspiring with Lawal Muhammad, her husband’s younger brother, who allegedly supplied the acid used in the attack.
