The Kano State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has pledged full support for the Kano Chamber of Commerce (KCC) ahead of its forthcoming International Trade Fair.
The fair is designed to showcase locally made products from the state’s 44 local government areas to international investors and markets.

Receiving the Chamber’s delegation during a courtesy visit, the state’s Commissioner for local governments Alhaji Mohammed Tajo Othman reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and private sector growth.
He lauded the Chamber’s advisory role in strengthening commercial activities, noting that Governor Alhaji Kabir Yusuf remains dedicated to policies that encourage business expansion and economic development.
Othman further urged the Chamber to guide local governments in embracing industrialisation and technological innovations that would unlock economic potential and drive sustainable growth at the grassroots.
Dangote Pavilion Turns Focal-Point At Kano Fair
In his remarks, President KCC Ambassador Usman Darma KCC, called for deeper collaboration with the 44 local governments to ensure the success of the trade fair.
He highlighted Kano’s strategic position as a commercial hub, noting that the state processes 50% of intercontinental trade connections.
Ambassador Darma also urged the state government to maximise opportunities from federal projects such as the AKK Gas Pipeline and solar energy plants, stressing that such initiatives could generate jobs, tackle youth unemployment, and accelerate inclusive development.
Both the Ministry and the Chamber agreed that the partnership would strengthen economic growth, attract foreign investments, and enhance livelihoods across Kano State.
