Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed that youth development remains a central pillar of his administration’s agenda, promising to continue rolling out empowerment and development programmes for young people across the state.
The governor made this declaration during a special event at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where youth groups, student unions, and various youth organizations gathered to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary and show solidarity with his administration.
Governor Idris expressed joy over the impressive youth turnout, describing their support as a strong vote of confidence in the youth-oriented policies and programs of his government.
“We will continue to prioritize initiatives that empower our youth sustainably,” he said. “Education will remain completely free in Kebbi State, and government will continue to take full responsibility for its funding.”
He praised the event organizers for bringing together young people across diverse backgrounds, noting that their unity strengthens his resolve to focus on youth development.
Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Nura Bala Fingilla, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, Comrade Majo Muhammad, commended the governor for his consistent support for youth-related causes.
They highlighted key achievements of the administration, including:
Payment of student scholarships and WAEC fees

Ongoing youth empowerment programmes
The officials pledged the continued loyalty and support of the youth community to the governor and his policies.
