Arrangements have been concluded for the accreditation of journalists ahead of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, scheduled to commence on 11 February 2026.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Kebbi State Governor and Chairman of the Accreditation Committee, Malam Yahaya Sarki, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
According to the statement, a dedicated 24-hour Secretariat and Accreditation Desk has been established at the Fishing Village in Argungu to facilitate the accreditation of local, national, and international journalists covering the historic festival for global audiences.
It noted that all duly accredited journalists will be issued official identification tags by the committee, while necessary support will be provided to ensure smooth and effective media coverage of the event.
The statement further revealed that the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Information and Publicity and Commissioner for Information and Culture, Kebbi State, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, has mobilised members of the committee following a series of preparatory meetings aimed at ensuring hitch-free and successful media coverage.
