The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has partnered with the Business School of Nile University, Abuja, to organise an Executive Industry Immersion Challenge (EIIC) for students of the institution’s Business School.
The four-day programme, held at the NDIC Head Office in Abuja, is aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience.

Speaking during the programme, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NDIC, Thompson Oludare Sunday, said the Corporation accepted to host the initiative as part of efforts to address the widening disconnect between academia and the business community.
According to him, the rapidly changing global work environment demands professionals who possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical insights into the realities of the corporate world.
He noted that programmes such as the Executive Industry Immersion Challenge are essential in preparing students for leadership and decision-making roles in today’s competitive business environment.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Nile Business School, Hauwa Lamido, represented by senior faculty member Festus Ekechi, said the choice of NDIC for the programme was informed by the Corporation’s strong reputation for professionalism, integrity, and sound corporate governance within Nigeria’s financial sector.
He added that the collaboration would expose students to real-world institutional practices and deepen their understanding of the nation’s financial and regulatory environment.
