The Authority Chief Executive (ACE) of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Mr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar, on Monday paid courtesy visits to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, as part of efforts to strengthen regulatory coordination in the petroleum sector.
The visits are part of ongoing engagements aimed at advancing the Authority’s mandate in Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum industry.
During the meetings, Mr. Umar sought the continued support and guidance of the ministers in delivering on the strategic objectives of the regulatory agency. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring efficiency, stability, and growth within the sector.
The ministers congratulated the NMDPRA boss on his appointment and assured him of their full support as he assumes responsibility for the leadership of the Authority.
Mr. Umar expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the confidence reposed in him, noting that he was impressed by the professionalism, technical expertise, and dedication of the agency’s workforce.
He pledged to leverage the human and institutional capacity within the NMDPRA to strengthen regulatory performance, promote innovation, and drive sustainable growth in Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum sector.
