President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned Collector Roads 01 and 02 in Mabushi District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a modern, interconnected capital city where no community is left behind.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, President Tinubu described infrastructure as the foundation of economic growth, national unity, and improved quality of life.

He said the newly completed roads would improve connectivity within Mabushi and other parts of the FCT, reduce travel time, stimulate commercial activities, and create greater access to opportunities for residents.
According to the President, the project forms part of the FCT Administration’s ongoing infrastructure renewal programme aimed at improving mobility, opening up new districts for development, and enhancing the quality of life across Abuja.
“Our vision remains clear: a world-class capital that works for every resident, whether you live in Asokoro or Kuje, in Wuse or Gwagwalada. Interconnectivity is how we get there, one road at a time, one district at a time, until no community is left behind,” Tinubu said.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting his administration, assuring them that more roads, employment opportunities, and development projects would be delivered nationwide.
The President also appreciated residents of the FCT for their patience during the construction period, acknowledging the inconveniences caused by traffic diversions and construction activities while noting that the completed project would deliver lasting benefits.
Tinubu commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for what he described as focused leadership and unwavering commitment to infrastructure development in Abuja.
“Wike, you have continued to show what focused leadership can achieve. Your energy, your insistence on delivery, and your refusal to accept excuses are why the FCT is transforming under this administration. Nigerians see it. I see it. Well done,” the President said.
Earlier, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, thanked President Tinubu for his continued support, noting that the inauguration formed part of the ongoing 31-day project commissioning programme marking the administration’s third anniversary.
He disclosed that the President had directed that every district in the FCT should witness tangible development, a mandate the administration has consistently implemented.
Wike highlighted recently completed projects, including the Jahi–Gwarimpa Interchange, and announced that more road projects in satellite towns would be commissioned before the conclusion of the exercise.
He stressed that road infrastructure remains the foundation of development, noting that the newly completed Mabushi roads had already attracted significant housing and real estate investments to the area.

“Look at this road and look at the houses springing up around it. Without this road, these developments would not have happened. Roads stimulate economic activities and increase the value of communities,” he said.
The minister attributed Abuja’s ongoing transformation to President Tinubu’s leadership and expressed appreciation for the consistent approval of funds needed to execute infrastructure projects across the FCT.
Also speaking, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, praised President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a blueprint for national renewal and sustainable development.
She urged residents to protect the newly completed roads and other public infrastructure to ensure they continue to serve the people and future generations.
