The Sokoto State Government has presented operational vehicles to security agencies as part of efforts to strengthen the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.
The vehicles, procured by the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, are aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of security agencies and improving the state’s security architecture.
Presenting the vehicles on behalf of the state government, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to restoring lasting peace and security across Sokoto State.
He urged the beneficiary security agencies to deploy the vehicles effectively in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities, stressing that the support was intended to improve operational efficiency in tackling insecurity.
Alhaji Gobir noted that sustaining peace and security requires collective efforts, emphasizing that security agencies cannot effectively combat crime without the cooperation of members of the public.
He therefore appealed to residents of the state to support ongoing security operations by promptly reporting suspicious persons and activities to the appropriate authorities.
The Deputy Governor expressed confidence that the additional operational vehicles would enhance the response capacity of security agencies and contribute to ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property across Sokoto State.
