Gates Foundation has expressed interest in partnering with the Zazzau Emirate Council to promote economic prosperity, financial inclusion and livelihood opportunities for households across Kaduna State.
The Foundation’s Economic Opportunity Programme representative, Ms. Sybil Chidiac, disclosed this when she paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, at his Palace in Zaria.

Ms. Chidiac commended the Emir’s leadership and said the Foundation was interested in supporting grassroots initiatives that promote financial inclusion, skills development and sustainable economic growth.
She stressed the importance of working with traditional institutions to ensure that economic empowerment programmes effectively reach communities and households.

Responding, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, welcomed the delegation and expressed the Emirate Council’s readiness to partner with reputable organisations committed to the development and wellbeing of the people.
The Emir emphasized the critical role of traditional institutions in mobilising communities and supporting programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and economic opportunities.
He assured the Gates Foundation of the Emirate Council’s full support towards ensuring the success of any mutually beneficial collaboration.

The delegation was accompanied to the Palace by the Executive Secretary/State Coordinator of the Kaduna State Social Investment Programme Agency, KAD-SIPA, Umar Sani Maikudi; Senior Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on Energy, Ibrahim Muhammad; and other members of the KAD-SIPA team.
