The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Service Commission (HSC), Dr Olufemi Omololu, has commenced a familiarisation tour of hospitals under the Commission as part of efforts to assess operations and strengthen healthcare delivery.
Omololu began the tour with visits to healthcare facilities in Ifako-Ijaiye and Orile-Agege, accompanied by the HSC Director of Medical Services, Dr Olawale Adegbite.

During the visits, the Permanent Secretary inspected various departments and wards, engaging with hospital management and staff while assessing the facilities and identifying areas requiring attention.
He commended the leadership of the hospitals for their commitment and efforts toward improving service delivery.
Omololu particularly praised the hospital management teams for supporting their respective Medical Directors, Dr Taiwo Oluyemi and Dr Temitope Bakare, in advancing the development recorded in the facilities.
He also addressed areas requiring improvement and offered guidance on measures to strengthen hospital operations.

The Permanent Secretary urged the hospital leadership and staff to place patients at the centre of their decisions, goals and professional responsibilities.
He encouraged them to promote teamwork, maintain a positive attitude toward their duties and create an environment that supports quality and compassionate patient care.
According to him, the Health Service Commission would continue to provide the necessary support and an enabling environment to facilitate improved healthcare services across its facilities.
Omololu also called for effective leadership styles capable of driving institutional development and improving the experiences and outcomes of patients.

At Orile-Agege, the Permanent Secretary joined staff and management in celebrating the birthday of the Medical Director, Dr Temitope Bakare, in a surprise celebration before proceeding with the familiarisation tour of the facility.
The tour is expected to continue across other hospitals under the Lagos State Health Service Commission as part of efforts to strengthen supervision, leadership and healthcare delivery.
