Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed, the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday, presided over by Governor Umar Namadi.
He said the program, which provides three meals daily for 29-30 days, is expected to cost N4.836 billion.

Hon. Sagir explained that, the initiative,is aimed at ensuring food security and providing relief to citizens during The holy month of Ramadan will be funded jointly by the state government and local government areas (LGAs). The state will shoulder 55% of the cost, while the LGAs will contribute 45%.
Speaking on the expansion, Hon. Ahmed highlighted the administration’s commitment to easing the burden of vulnerable citizens and fostering inclusivity during Ramadan.

“This program is part of the government’s broader efforts to uplift the living standards of its people and provide necessary support during the holy month,” Hon. Sagir said.
