The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has outlined activities to mark the Commonwealth Day 2025 celebration, emphasizing the role of education in strengthening resilience and prosperity across the 56 member nations of the Commonwealth.
This year’s celebration, themed “Together We Strive,” highlights the shared commitment of Commonwealth nations to sustainable development and educational advancement.
Minister of Education Applauds STAN’s STEM Initiatives
Dr. Alausa has directed the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to observe the day by creating awareness in schools, ensuring that students understand the values and goals of the Commonwealth.
As part of the commemoration, selected schools across Nigeria will participate in special events, including lectures that reflect on the importance of unity, cooperation, and development among Commonwealth nations.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with inviting representatives from member countries to join the observance in Nigeria.
The annual celebration continues to amplify efforts towards sustainable development, particularly in the education sector.
