The Kano State Government’s Ramadan feeding programme has received international recognition, with the Government of Indonesia commending the initiative.
The programme, which provides daily iftar meals to 91,000 vulnerable residents across the state, has been praised for its efforts in alleviating the hardship faced by the less privileged .

The Indonesian Acting Ambassador to Nigeria, represented by Madam Tutu, expressed admiration for the initiative, stating that such gestures would significantly ease the suffering of those in need.
The visit was part of a directive from the Indonesian authorities to monitor Ramadan activities across the world.
Commissioner Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya welcomed the delegation and highlighted the government’s efforts in providing timely and efficient delivery of meals at 91 designated centers.

The programme has also been praised by the Chairman of the Kano Council of Traders and Entrepreneurs, Hassan Ya’u, who noted the similarities between Kano and Indonesia, including a common Islamic heritage and diplomatic ties.
The Ramadan feeding programme is a 27-day initiative that aims to support vulnerable Muslim residents in the state.
