Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has ordered the immediate dismissal of two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) over separate cases of gross misconduct, following damning findings from state investigative committees.
A statement issued by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, confirmed the sacking of Abubakar Umar Sharada, SSA on Political Mobilization, who was indicted as the mastermind in the controversial bail of a notorious drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu.
The investigative panel confirmed Sharada’s direct involvement through his own testimony.
According to the dismissal letter, Sharada must hand over all government property to the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs, Office of the SSG, by Monday, August 11, 2025, and is barred from presenting himself as a public officer under the current administration.
Similarly, Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, SSA at the Cabinet Office, was dismissed over his alleged role in rebagging and diverting palliative grains from a warehouse in Sharada in 2024. He has been arraigned in court on charges of theft and criminal conspiracy. Roba is also required to return all government property and desist from identifying as a public official.
In a separate finding, the government cleared Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, of all allegations after an investigative panel affirmed his innocence.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption, warning all public officials to uphold integrity in both public and private conduct. The public is advised not to engage the dismissed aides on any matters relating to the state government, as doing so would be at their own risk.
