The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has condemned the killing of a mother and her six children by suspected assailants in Kano State, describing the act as cruel and inhuman.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker said the incident was shocking and barbaric, stressing that the attackers demonstrated total disregard for the sanctity of human life and the fundamental right to live.
Falgore aligned himself with the position of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, calling on security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation into the crime and to bring those responsible to justice without delay.
The Speaker conveyed condolences on behalf of the entire Kano State House of Assembly to the bereaved families, the state government, and the people of Kano State. He appealed for calm and urged residents to avoid any action that could trigger further violence.
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to support security agencies in tracking down the perpetrators, assuring that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the deceased,” the statement quoted Falgore as saying.
The Assembly, he added, remains committed to working with relevant authorities to strengthen security measures and protect lives and property across the state.
