Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has described the late Malam Aminu Kano as a nationalist and activist who struggled for the upliftment and enhancement of the fundamental rights of the common people.
The Governor stated this during the 22nd-anniversary symposium to mark the 41st memorial anniversary of Malam Aminu Kano held at Mambayya House, Kano.
Represented by the state Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, said Aminu Kano left a legacy of social justice, equality, sincerity of purpose, and good governance, and his main concern throughout his life was how to educate everyone.
He said the present administration prioritizes the importance of education by dedicating a huge amount of money to the 2024 budget and providing foreign scholarships to Kano State indigenes.

Governor Yusuf expressed his government’s readiness to embrace ideas, advice, and recommendations that will enhance the well-being of its people.
He commended the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Bayero University for the annual symposium to mark the 41st memorial anniversary of the late Malam Aminu Kano.

While the discussants include Professor Williams Fawole, Senator Shehu Sani, and Dr. Abubakar Isa Umar who discussed the topic of this year’s symposium, “Democracy or ‘Courtocracy’: The Travail of Nigeria’s Electoral Process in the Fourth Republic.”
